CHAIRMAN OF TUMSIAD YAŞAR DOĞAN AND PRESIDENT OF TURKEY ERDOĞAN VISIT INDONESIA

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to Jakarta capital of Indonesia to pay a courtesy visit with Turkish Businessmen after completing visiting to People’s Republic of Chine.

Erdoğan was accompanied by his wife Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız, Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication Feridun Bilgin, Chairman of TUMSIAD Yaşar Doğan, Member of Board Abdulbakir Yıldız and Turkish Businessmes.

In the second day of the schedule President Mr. Erdoğan was welcomed with ceremony By Joko Widodo President of Indonesia .

Indonesia - Turkey Business Forum that TUMSIAD businessmen joined took place with participation of Minister of Economy Nikah Zeybekci, Coordinating Minister of Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Sofyan A. Djalil, Foreign Economic Relations Board Chairman Ömer Cihad Vardan and  Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Suryo Bambang Sulisto in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia on 1st August 2015. More than 400 businessmen participated to the forum.

Ministery of Economy Nihat Zeybekci said that, the current economical relations between these two countries don’t result as well as the potential. Stating that Turkey and Indonesia have a goal to enter  the top 10 economies of the world in 2020 vision, Mr. Zeybekci said that they must increase commercial partnerships and investment activities. Emphasizing that Indonesia has a goal to enter top 5 economies of the world and displays the same dynamics as Turkey, Zeybekci said that the countries’ borders were drawn based on the economic power and the balance of these two G20 countries must be improved by trading high value-added goods. Stating that Turkey has a main role for Indonesia to open up to Europe, Zeybekci said that Indonesia that is trying to restructure following the foundation of  ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and Turkey that has Customs Union agreement with the EU are mutually complementary countries. Stating that Turkish Airlines have flights for transportation and travelling  between Istanbul-Jakarta, Zeybekci said that the logistic difficulties for the trade of these two countries were supplied.  Stating that ship transport must be improved, Zeybekci said that, they need to have high added value cooperation for the collective goal to enter top 10 economies of the world.

Following the introduction speeches, Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) signed “Memorandum of Understanding” . Mr Doğan who is one of the members of DEIK founders' committee signed memorandum of understanding.
